One year old

January 27th, 2011

This site recently had its first birthday.

What is surprising is to find that we’re now on top or at least very near the top of the google search results for “appraisal auto accept”. Pretty cool.

This, despite the fact that we’re don’t believe in spending any energy trying to game the Google Search engine.

New clients – how to…

January 17th, 2011

Despite the lack of activity on this site, we’ve been busy with new projects as well as updates to existing projects.

While we do accept paypal, we recommend that new clients consider using freelancer.com for the first project. Our Freelancer.com profile has a summary of the process for those that don’t have the patience to read the Freelancer.com FAQs and how to’s.

There will be a small commission to pay, and it will add a couple of days to the whole process. But a freelancer.com project provides a neutral intermediary to protect your interests (and ours:)

What happened to the reviews?

June 18th, 2010

While we recommend that you make use of escrow to transact business on the internet, we caution you to be circumspect about what details you put in your profile on sites like Freelancer.com.

Any personal details that you may publish there is public and can be seen by anyone who cares to look. Not everyone who has access to this information is friendly. Some users have had unfortunate consequences as a result of projects posted on these sites.
If you do make use of these sites, make sure that your personal details are kept private.

Since the end of March most of our projects have been direct. Good for us, but the downside is no public forum where we can reference reviews.

We no longer link to new projects and will not be adding any further Freelancer reviews.

Still business as usual

May 14th, 2010

Several companies have made recent changes to their web sites and some older versions of our products have been affected. Many of you do not update regularly. If you are not already running the latest updates, you probably now have a reason to do so. Most of the issues that are now surfacing were solved some time ago.

If you are uncertain whether you are at the right version, contact us, identifying the product/version that you are using. Better would be to subscribe to the various mailing lists and keep up to date that way. The updates are usually simple to apply.

Freelancer Profile Details – less is more

May 10th, 2010

If you post a project on Freelancer, keep your profile details non-specific. You are not going to get any leads from this site, so you are not forgoing a marketing opportunity.

Freelancer does not provide true private projects and your project details as well as your profile, are available to anyone who cares to look.

Keep your profile empty of any detail sufficient to identify you. Sometimes, all it takes is your city. Also don’t use a userid like “myrealname”.

The projects you post on Freelancer can be seen by the whole of the internet. If you make the project non-public, this will at the very least keep it off the search engines.

Business as usual

May 8th, 2010

Despite the recent excitement, we’re happy to assure you that we still provide all our normal services.

Product support

May 5th, 2010

Web sites and web based products are always vulnerable to unannounced change. We consider this as a fact of life and we are geared up to handle this. Take the latest changes at LV – the necessary changes are already in place and being tested.

Looks like we finally may have a level playing field there. We welcome something that we consider long overdue.

In other news, a couple of our other products have also recently been affected by site changes. Some clients were not even aware of the issues until we informed them that there was an update available.

Update

May 3rd, 2010

After the month end changes at Lendervend, one of our more popular solutions, it is business as usual.

We have to admit that we were down for a few hours while we made some necessary changes and before we could start testing the update.

We’ve learned from this little adventure, and so we are making sure that similar changes in the future will have little or no impact.

Contact Form

April 9th, 2010

We now have a contact form which you can use should you have any questions about our services.

Escrow

April 9th, 2010

We now also recommend Elance.com for escrow.

Elance offers one feature not available via Freelancer.com and that is private projects.
